What this site actually is
Modern Work Weekly started as a way to keep up with the pace of change across Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Defender, Purview, Copilot, and the rest of the Modern Work stack, without relying on any single vendor blog, TechCommunity board, or release-notes page to catch everything on its own. Every item that shows up here traces back to an official Microsoft source: a what’s-new page, a release-notes feed, a security advisory, a Microsoft Learn doc. Nothing here is speculation about Microsoft’s roadmap.
It’s independent and unaffiliated with Microsoft. That matters for how it reads: an item gets covered because it’s relevant to running Modern Work in production, not because it’s a headline feature Microsoft wants promoted.
The three things you’ll find here
The Weekly Digest
A new post every week: a Top 5 for what matters most, organized into the six pillars below, an Action Required section for deadlines and CVEs (every one, regardless of severity), and a Documentation Updates section for everything smaller. Every post has a matching Executive’s Guide for the same week, reframed for leadership.
Evergreen Reference Pages
Pages that don’t expire the way a dated digest post does. This page is one; so is Deployment Guides, which organizes Microsoft’s official setup checklists by pillar and environment (commercial, GCC, GCC High, DoD). These exist for the questions that come up regardless of the week.
The Tag Universe
Every topic this site has covered, plotted as stars on a globe, clustered by pillar, sized by frequency, and linked by which topics show up together. Click the “How to navigate” button on the Tag Universe itself for the full control list.
Why six pillars
Everything on this site, across all three of the above, is organized around the same six practice areas. That’s deliberate: a digest item, a deployment guide, a globe star, and a tag archive page all use the same six categories, so learning that structure once means you can navigate any part of the site the same way.
Click any pillar above to jump to what it covers on the What Is Modern Work? page.
Finding your way around
If you’re looking for everything the site has said about one specific topic — Conditional Access, Copilot, a particular Defender product — the fastest paths are the tag archive pages (linked from any tag chip on a post, or browse all of them from the footer) and the Tag Universe globe, which cover the same ground two different ways. If you want to know what’s coming up or overdue, the Key Dates page tracks deprecations and rollout deadlines with real dates attached. If you’re checking whether a Microsoft service is having issues right now, that’s the Known Issues panel on the homepage. And the footer holds the more specialized, less frequently needed pages — Deployment Guides among them — so the top navigation stays focused on the things most people need most often.
